Irritating skin infection

This past Thursday I felt something weird. I saw a redish wound on my left leg and shocked because it might be a staph infection. When I went to the doctor earlier, he said it looks like a ring worm. So right now I can't train at least a week. Now I'm bored :(

Dream 8 Opening

I love their Video intro especially the way they pay respect for the late grandmaster Helio Gracie. Their intro is similar to the intros of Pride FC and the announcer is so unique when she introduced the fighters! It's way better than UFC

Hyper Extended right elbow

2 Fridays ago (March 20) I injured my right elbow(Hyper extended) due to armbar. When I heard of the pop on my elbow, I tapped immediately and took a rest. Good thing there's no any damage to the bones and ligaments. After 3 days, I had some light sparring and now I'm 110% ok!!!

A advice

Earlier before the UFC 96 started, I chatted with a pretty friend of mine who trains Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and she can make a guy cry haha! I asked some advice on my weakness. Some of my weaknesses in Jiu Jitsu is when I'm on the top of my opponent. So this is her advice to me

there are two types... small man and big man jiujitsu.. Asians usually play small man because of their size and swiftness in defense. I personally play big man despite my size because I would rather impose my game than be the one on the bottom defending...

they say... that when you're defending, you're losing... but hey, some people are really good at defending so if playing on the ground is what you're good at, then hone the skill but the problem for you is when your opponent also plays on the ground and doesn't like playing on top. This will be the time your top game skills need to come in...

the only way you can get good at your top game is to keep training moves from the top.... that's all... just train.

So experience is the key to improve my game. Thanks Ms. May Masuda :)

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu seminar with Roberto Traven

(I'm the 2nd guy wearing black top in the first row)

This last Sunday I went to my gym for a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu seminar training with Former UFC fighter Roberto Traven. He has a 5th degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. When I'm on my way in the gym, I think twice if I'll just sit around there because its just been only 16 days since I had my dental extraction at that time. Since I bought a double guard mouthpiece, I chose to train with my teammates. Coach Roberto is a very nice guy. He's so very patient to train me because of my several errors to do the right chokes. Although I forgot already some of the chokes he taught to me, I still remember some easy chokes and how to dominate the fight on the ground. When I go back to training, probably I will remember the chokes that masster Roberto taught to me

My valentine's day

I woke up in the morning at 6:30 AM. Took a shower, ate my breakfast and went somewhere, to the United States Marine corps office! Yeah its weird. No date but the day before the Valentine's day, I talked to my special someone and I she told me that she's in Bicol on Valentine's day! So I tell her to take care of herself and I sent her a bouquet of roses and she saw the bouquet after Valentine's day. Ok lang at least napakita ko ulit sa kanya kung gaano siya ka-special sa buhay ko. Now back to Marines, why I'm with the Marines? I was invited by a recruiter to join them on their tour on Marine Museum and Marine Corps base in Quantico Virginia(1 hour from my place) I saw some guns, planes and katanas from 1800's in the museum. When we arrived in the base, we ate a MRE(meal- ready to eat). The heater inside the MRE is so cool! haha. After that we went to the military police office and I saw some wonderful Rifles(M4 carbine) and handguns(Beretta)
